Welcome to Star Trek Answers. What would you like to know?

They simply land in heap on the transporter stage at their destination. But they can avoid this if the seat they are sitting in at the time of the transport is beamed out with them.

  • From a technical standpoint, that should be true, but generally when it happend on the show, the person materializes standing up. (TOS: "Tomorrow is Yesterday")Cpthunt 19:14, May 26, 2011 (UTC)
    • I regard that as something similar to deactivating a weapon in transport or beaming a woman out of her clothes - careful manipulation of the matterstream. (TNG: "The Most Toys", TNG: "Ménage à Troi")
  • I think it depends on the situation, in the 2009 Star Trek film, Kirk and Sulu were beamed up while falling, and did slightly impact the platform(though the force was reduced). 31dot (talk) 07:18, November 1, 2016 (UTC)
