Welcome to Star Trek Answers!
Edit
Welcome to Star Trek Answers, Meste17. Thanks for contributing! I hope you join in and ask or answer some more questions. You can find the new questions on the WikiActivity page. If you need any help, have a look at Help:Wikianswers. -- 31dot (Talk) 03:02, May 19, 2012
This wiki is to ask and answer questions about aspects of the Star Trek universe; it is not meant to ask for opinions on fan fiction ideas or solicit assistance in writing fan fiction. I'm sure there are sites to do that. 31dot 00:22, May 26, 2012 (UTC)
Can you show me where one is then please? And I am sure that one question IS valid, cuz i wanted everyone's personal opinion on what they think they'll see and find. Meste17 16:10, May 26, 2012 (UTC)
- I'd start with Memory Gamma, which is a fan fiction wiki- they might be able to point you somewhere. 31dot 01:40, May 27, 2012 (UTC)
Recent questions
Edit
Instead of generating many different questions that basically ask the same thing while only changing one word, use one page and explain what you are looking for. This way there aren't ten different discussion about what is essentially the same question. 31dot 22:38, June 19, 2012 (UTC)
I didn't say it was a fan fiction question, I said it was a question seeking an opinion(what is "most popular" is an opinion) and that it is not a question about Star Trek content seeking a specific answer, If you disagree with the deletion, then use the talk page of the question to comment, as stated in the deletion template. 31dot 16:53, June 23, 2012 (UTC)
If you have a follow-on question related to one of your questions, please ask it on the same page as your original question. This way there are not unnecessarily multiple pages on the same topic. 31dot 20:17, June 25, 2012 (UTC)
Deletion template
Edit
Do not remove deletion templates from articles without discussion on the article's talk page, a link to which can be found within the deletion template on that page. 31dot 13:10, June 24, 2012 (UTC)
Questions again
Edit
This site is not meant for general discussion of or pure speculation on Star Trek; it is to seek specific answers to questions about Star Trek content, as this site is meant to compliment both Memory Alpha and Memory Beta, to help people who can't find an answer they are looking for there.
If the question begins with "Could X happen" or asks about something in the 25th Century (which was not seen in Star Trek)- it shouldn't be asked here, but at a site intended for general discussion of Star Trek. 31dot 09:16, July 5, 2012 (UTC)
I suggest you reread my earlier post above. 31dot 20:40, July 5, 2012 (UTC)
Since you have failed to heed my above posts as you asked yet another general discussion question seeking opinions, I have instituted a 3-day block. If you post here that you understand what I have said, I will lift it before then. 31dot (talk) 02:14, July 25, 2012 (UTC)
31dot, while I DO understand what you have said, you also must please understand that the question I asked was NOT a question of opinion.....for once. Do you NOT see questions like that on here often? It WAS a valid question on a "which would win factor" because if you recall, they DO cover VALID info about the holographic emitters seen in ENT: Babel One, United and Aenar and the cloaking devices seen ALL the way from ENT to DS9. It WAS a valid question. Meste17 (talk) 02:31, July 25, 2012 (UTC)
- I will admit to being a little confused by the "which would win" comment, as that suggests seeking opinions on what is "better" with an initial reading. I'll reverse everything. 31dot (talk) 02:58, July 25, 2012 (UTC)
- Thank you :) Meste17 (talk) 12:11, July 25, 2012 (UTC)
Block
Edit
I have blocked you because posting the picture and asking the question you did is not the proper use of this site, and you have been warned before about this. This site is meant to supplement Memory Alpha and Memory Beta and is not for soliciting assistance in writing fan fiction or posing purely hypothetical opinion-based questions. 31dot (talk) 20:12, August 4, 2012 (UTC)
- 3 days? Meste17 (talk) 20:14, August 4, 2012 (UTC)
What's not clear about the above? Seeking opinions about purely hypothetical what-could-have-beens is not what this site is for. This will be your last warning before another block. 31dot (talk) 00:48, August 22, 2012 (UTC)
This includes "what would be a good name" for something, as "what would be good" is an opinion (as well as what is "historically significant") and not a question seeking facts about Star Trek. 31dot (talk) 02:03, October 11, 2012 (UTC)
Stop
Edit
Stop putting "this is NOT a speculatory question" in your posts. If it truly isn't one, you don't need to say so. 31dot (talk) 20:41, August 30, 2012 (UTC)
Well try to understand. You were always getting onto me for "putting speculatory questions" on this site, even though some of them were not. So I thought I'd try to alleviate the problem. Meste17 (talk) 20:48, August 30, 2012 (UTC)
Removing other people's responses
Edit
Please do not remove or edit other people's answers unless they are inappropriate for the wiki. (and if they are, please explain why.) If you have something to add please post a separate reply below the other person's response.-Cpthunt (talk) 17:28, October 13, 2012 (UTC)
Galactica
Edit
What Galactica "might be" if it was a Federation starship is speculation. Again, that's not what this site is for. If a question involves "if"s and "might be"s, it shouldn't go here. 31dot (talk) 02:30, February 21, 2013 (UTC)
Same goes for Bridge Commander. 31dot (talk) 00:11, April 17, 2013 (UTC)
