To address the lack of visible impulse engines,Doug Drexler later suggested the saucer and secondary hull engines are the advanced subspace field type and hidden behind stealth baffles. Although the Tech Manual states the Nebula has a single impulse engine, later material suggests it is capable of saucer seperation, necessitating engines on both hulls. Logical places are at the aft port and starboard quarters of the saucer, and on the aft face of the superstructure running from the secondary hull to the mission pod
